Summary of Story:

Summary of Story (Written by Greg Casson-du Mont):

The Year is 640 AD and the Christianization of Anglo-Saxon England is well underway. Eorcenberht, King of Kent, has commanded that all pagan “idols” be destroyed and that Lent be observed.

During this time, a young and devout missionary named Edwin (20-30) is sent to a remote village where he aims to convert the still staunchly pagan populace to the new religion.

However, when he arrives, he discovers a near-deserted, hare infested settlement whose few residents seem to have gone utterly mad, behaving less and less like people and more and more like the rodents around them.

In truth, the village was once a thriving community devoted to the Saxon goddess of fertility, Ēastermōnaþ (Eostre).

However, when a previous missionary successfully converted the inhabitants to Christ, the ancient goddess became jealous and cursed the village, wasting their crops with famine whilst slowly transforming all that had renounced her into hares, doomed to be eventually eaten by the famished survivors…

My Role: Producer

I am the Producer of my group.

My role, as the Producer, is to plan and coordinate the whole of the Major Project.

My job is to look at the big picture, instead of the finite details.

I am also in charge of scheduling, budgeting, and social media and marketing campaigns.

I’ve always been great at organising and I like to be in charge of people, delegating tasks and leading people to success.

The role of the Producer is the best way to show my skills as a leader and organiser.

Also, I want to go into Producing in my professional career, so this is a great place to start.

I chose this project due to how our Writer, Greg, sold the story and concept. I am extremely excited to work on this film and to produce something that caught my eye the moment I read the logline. I love history and films that portray the past onscreen, so it’s a perfect fit to be the Producer of this film.

My Film Group - EOSTRE

We formed our group today!

I spoke to Greg, the Writer, who came up with the idea and asked if I could be the Producer of his idea. We formed the group over the course of yesterday and today!

I set up a Discord Chat for the Group and that will be the primary form of communication, then Zoom meetings.

GREG'S IDEA:

Eostre (Gregory Casson-du Mont) Drama

An Anglo-Saxon Christian missionary's belief system is challenged when is forced to convert to an ancient religion at the cost of his soul... or spend his life transformed into a wild hare.
